For foreign au-pairs coming to the Netherlands there are special insurances.
These packages cover and protect the au-pair in work related situations. For example emergency medical expenses, liability, extraordinary costs (e.g. travel expenses due to serious family emergencies) and travel insurance (e.g. travelling with the family while as an au-pair in Europe).

These insurances must be settled before the au-pairs enter the Netherlands. The family is responsible for arranging this.

In most cases the following insurances are used:

•	Mondial Assistance

In some cases a different insurance is needed. E.g. when the au-pair is already in the Netherlands. In this circumstance the following insurance is accepted:

Note: As with all travel insurances, all existing medical and dental problems are excluded from the insurance coverage.
